Advocates warn that the banking royal commission would miss out on testimony from hundreds of victims afraid of breaching settlement deals.
The Royal Commission into Misconduct in the Banking, Superannuation and Financial Services Industry has begun hearing its first witnesses last Tuesday.
Australia's major banks face a public grilling over cases where they have engaged in what are deemed inappropriate or unsuitable lending for mortgages, cars and credit cards.
But a consumer-advocate group says the commission is set to miss out on testimony from what it says are hundreds of victims.
