Candle Vigils demanding the resignation of President Park Geun-hye from Korean students and Korean-Australian were held in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Adelaide today.


Candle Vigils from Korean students and Korean-Australian were held in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Perth and Adelaide today.

In Seoul, Korea, Hundreds of thousands of people flooded streets today demanding the resignation of President Park Geun-hye amid an explosive political scandal.

The protesters are calling for President Park Geun-hye to step down, over a scandal involving her close friend.

Deputy Prime Minister Lee Joon-Sik in South Korea says he's worried the demonstrations could turn violent. He said "The government is concerned that this rally could be marred by illegal collective actions or violent incidents, which would hamper its status as a proper forum for stating opinions."
