The new Child Care Subsidy will begin on 2 July 2018 and will replace the current Child Care Rebate and Child Care Benefit.

From July 2018, there will be changes to child care fee assistance. The current Child Care Rebate and Child Care Benefit will be replaced by a single Child Care Subsidy.

The level of Child Care Subsidy that can be accessed will depend on combined family income, the level of recognised activity of both parents (based on the parent who does the least amount of activity) and the type of child care the family uses.

“Most lower and middle- income families that are eligible will receive a higher subsidy than they do now.

It’s available at education.gov.au/childcare to use the Family Child Care Subsidy Estimator
