The following segment dealing with the new ticket reselling laws is brought to you by NSW Fair Trading.

Consumer Information is a radio segment brought by NSW Fair Trading, the consumer protection agency. Steve Lee of the NSW Fair Trading joins SBS Korean program to give information about the new ticket reselling laws.

New laws to address the practice of ticket scalping started on 1 June 2018. In New South Wales it is now against the law to resell tickets for more than the original ticket cost, plus transaction costs that are capped at 10% of the ticket cost. The new regulations apply to tickets with a resale restriction to provide protection for consumers that prevents an event organiser from cancelling a ticket on the basis it was resold if it was sold in accordance with the new laws.

To find out more about the new ticket reselling laws, you can visit the NSW Fair Trading website -www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au
