Last Friday, hundreds of thousands of students and workers have taken to the streets to claim the necessity for stronger action on climate change.


Organisers say they estimate approximately 300,000 people to turn out to participate in protests across Australia.

The protesters called for the Federal Government to commit not to commence any new coal, oil or gas projects, and to generate 100 per cent renewable energy and exports.

On the other hand, criticism has been put forward as some students did not attend class or take exam to participate in the protests, raising concerns that they are utilised for political reasons by adults.
