Prime Minister Scott Morrison says tomorrow's federal election will be extremely close.
Labor remains on track to win the election, leading the Coalition 51 to 49 per cent on a two-party preferred basis.
Mr Morrison says everyone's vote will be important.
[Prime Minister Scott Morrison: "Every single Australian walking into the ballot box tomorrow is empowered to choose your local member and to choose who your Prime Minister will be. You will be making that decision. Not pollsters. Not newspapers. Not politicians. You will be making that choice."]
Around 250,000 new Australian citizens will vote in this federal election – the most at any election in history.
Data from the Australian Electoral Commission and Department of Social Services shows more than 10,000 former refugees will be voting for the first time.
Spokesperson for migrant and refugee settlement agency AMES Australia, Laurie Nowell, says refugees and migrants relish the chance to vote and play a part in the political process.
[Spokesperson Laurie Nowell: "They see voting as a validation of their place in Australian society and it gives them a sense of belonging. Many of these people, especially the refugees, have come from places where perhaps they don't have a vote or the act of voting could be extremely dangerous. We find that most new citizens really relish the opportunity to take part in the politicial process and they take it very seriously."]
