The first South Korean zombie flick, Train To Busan, broke box office records drawing more than five million moviegoers in the first five days of release in the country and is now set to exceed 10 million viewers soon.

The highly anticipated Korean zombie apocalypse thriller will showcase in Sydney from 12 August 2016 during the 7th KOFFIA.

Train To Busan, which was released in South Korea on July 22, made its international premiere at the Cannes film festival back in May.

Directed by Yeon Sang-ho, the thriller is set on a bullet train, travelling from Seoul to Busan, where passengers have to outsmart and outlive the undead who are on a rampage. It stars Goon Yoo, Ma Dong-seok, Jung Yu-mi and Choi Woo-shik.

With that kind of success, it is not surprising that Hollywood is keen to remake the film. Theres already a bidding war between two major studios in the United States - 20th Century Fox and Sony Pictures.
