Labor has reclaimed its four seats that went to by-elections on Saturday, while the Centre Alliance also held its seat. The results mean the Coalition has not increased its one-seat majority in the House of Representatives.

Labor's key theme across the by-elections was putting "hospitals before the big banks" -- a reference to the Coalition's proposed corporate tax cut for all-sized businesses.

Speaking in Longman, Mr Shorten was understandably pleased with Labor's evening.
