According to Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA), upcoming auction of spectrum in 3.6Ghz will be opened at end of November. Currently, ACMA finalize auction rules with market participants.
Telstra and Optus already launched 5G network in Gold Coast, Commonwealth Games, 2018, and they planned to install 5G network from early next year. Due to future technologies, such as, AI, IoT and Robot, 5G will be mandatory for customers.
However, most of the devices are not supporting 5G network yet, so if the customer wants to use newest technology, they must purchase a new product released after next year, which has 5G competitive modem.
