Former High Court justice and the Chair of UN COI has sounded a note of caution after recent progress towards peace on the Korean peninsula.

Mr Kirby told SBS News that discussions around human rights in North Korea have so far been conspicuously absent as relations between the North and South have thawed.

Meanwhile, North and South Korea will field a unified women's team for the first time in 27 years in the semi-final of the Table Tennis championships in Sweden on Friday.

The two Koreas will field a combined women’s team at the table tennis world championships after the nations decided not to compete against each other in the quarter-finals, the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) said on Thursday.

North and South Korea asked to field a unified team for the semi-finals of the championships, which will be played against Japan on Friday in Halmstad, Sweden.
