The Hangeul Sarang Library is the hub of a complex cultural space for the promotion of Hangeul (Korean alphabet) and Korean culture. It was opened on the occasion of the King Sejongs Birthday in 2009 and has the collection of 13,000 Korean books.
Summer in Korea has suddenly turned the best season for reading in the wake of the news on Korean novelist Hang Kang being awarded the 2016 Man Booker International Prize for her novel The Vegetarian.
There is a place people can borrow a variety of Korean books without any burden.
The library serves to promote diversity in Australian society through its support of Korean culture.
It strives with a mission to the public to help educate children and foster the knowledge of their heritage particularly for second generation Korean Australians as well as others who are interested in learning Korean language and culture.
