Most Australians perceive that the Lunar New Year is one of the most significant multicultural occasions. Then how do they actually understand it?


Australia marks the Lunar New Year this week.

 

Diverse festivals for the Lunar New Year are presented in big cities of Australia including Sydney.

 

Decorations for Year of the Monkey are displayed in major streets, coinciding with a variety of events and performances also CBD of the major capital cities.

 

SBS had a vox pop with Australians at the downtown of Sydney, regarding what Australians consider and understand about the Lunar New Year.

 

As expected, a lot of Australians recognise the Lunar New Year and they are trying to take it for granted as part of the multiculturalism for which Australia has been standing.
