Peter Jo aka. Kimchi Pete, the owner chef of Melbourne CBD’s Korean restaurant Shik recently appears on ABC Radio to explain about Korean cuisine and its cooking techniques.

Melbourne CBD’s Korean restaurant Shik run by Peter Jo has drawn a lot of foodies’ attention when it opened in March 2018. Peter Jo also known as Kimchi Pete on social media had been shown his passion for the traditional Korean cooking through his a pop-up dining experience Seoul of Sydney.

Peter is second generation restaurateur. His family are behind Sydney’s popular BBQ restaurant Madang and fine dining Danjee restaurants.

After working in the family restaurant Peter found his passion for foods and started working at Sydney’s top diners including Momofuku Seiobo, Vini and Berta.

Peter who recently appeared on ABC radio’s Drive with Alicia Loxley explained about Korean cuisine and its cooking techniques also joined SBS Korean program.

Kimchi Pete striving for presenting the best traditional Korean cooking says he wants to break the mould of Korean foods in Australia.

“I want to change people’s perception of what Korean cuisine can be. It is not just about kimchi, bibimbap or fried chicken. It is beyond our understanding and I want to show you the real traditional Korean technique with local ingredients.”
