Tasmania is an island state, located in the southernmost part of Australia, where consists of a small population of half a million people. In Tasmania, you are less likely to find Korean migrants compared to those of other states in Australia.
Chanjoo Park, a PhD student at the University of Tasmania, has been studying Tasmanian unique essential oil crops, Kunzea. Essential oils such as tea tree oil, lavender oil, and eucalyptus oil are mostly being used for various products in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.
SBS met with Park at the University of Tasmania and talked about her university life in Hobart and the research projects.
