Jin Su Jung, Australias only Korean-born sprinter was selected in the Commonwealth Games in the mens 100m sprint in 2014.


Born in Korea and moved to Australia at the age of 11, Jin Su Jung got involved in athletics when he was in year 7 at the local athletics centre.

Sydney University student Jin Su Jung joined the University Athletics Club and won the athletic scholarship. In 2014, Jung has finally become an Australias national athlete, competing in the 100m sprint and 4X100 relay.

Jung also achieved a new personal best of 10.27 and was placed seventh in the final of the mens 100m at the 2015 Gwangju Universiade in Korea. Although he ran in the Australian team in Gwangju, he felt like he was at home.

He is currently in the final year of combined Bachelor of Commerce and Laws degree to prepare for his uncertain future as an athlete.
