Korean born Australian soprano Hyeseoung Kwon widely renowned as a real Puccini soprano has performed as Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly), a soloist for Carmina Burana with Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Missa Solemnis with Sydney Philharmonia, Opera in the Vineyards, Stanthorpe, and Mozart's Requiem in addition to numerous concerts and recitals in Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Melbourne, since relocating to Australia in mid 90s.


Hyeseung Kwon, born in Korea, graduated from the Hanyang University in Korea and studied opera performance in Milan, Italy.

Kwon then moved to Australia and joined in Opera Australia in 2005.

 

She usually observed other peoples rehearsals to obtain great ideas that she can incorporate into her own performance.

 

This led Kwon to be one of the principal sopranos of Opera Australia who has performed many of the major roles including Cio-Cio-San of Madama Butterfly and Liù of Turandot.

 

Kwon has now turned to Freelancer soprano after her 8 years at Opera Australia, and said people who truly love music can achieve their dream of becoming a musician. She also said her goal is to play many fascinating roles.
