K-pop band BTS have made history on the American Billboard charts by becoming the first non-English speaking act to hit No. 1 on Billboard's Artist 100.


BTS have made history on the Billboard charts, with Love Yourself: Tear becoming the first K-pop album to ever come in at No.1 on the Billboard 200.

The milestone also marks the first No.1 on the Billboard 200 for BTS.

ABC reports the BTS’s Billboard achievement and explains BTS’s online power with 15 million tweeter followers.  

South Korean President Moon Jae-In personally congratulates BTS on all their success.

"The songs, dance, dreams and enthusiasm of BTS energised and gave strength to young people around the world," he wrote.

"I congratulate BTS on topping the Billboard 200 with their album titled ‘Love Yourself 轉 Tear’. This is the first ever Korean album to claim the top spot, and also the first non-English album to do so in 12 years."
