Featuring a Korean grandmother, Youbi Lee presents babies’ world that consists of five colours and spaces in her first performance for children, Obang.
Obang is chosen by Art Play’s New Idea Lab competition that provides emerging artists with various support. Run by the City of Melbourne, Art Play is where children can meet with professional artists to experience a range of arts. In the back of Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square, Obang invites babies aged 6 to 18 months and their care-givers to a Korean grandmother’s home for a meal.
The audience can enjoy the interactive experience featuring puppetry, story and free-play. This performative installation space is going to be an exceptional experience as Youbi and the team have developed it with the audience who participated in the workshops.
