The early music chamber ensemble Progetto Corelli led by Korean Australian musician Wony Choi will hold a concert on 1 and 23 April at St. Brigid’s Catholic Church, St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Melbourne, tackling Baroque, Renaissance and Galant style music.

Progetto Corelli known as Corelli Project is an international collaboration for studying and performing early music to re-explore early music repertoires and historically informed performance in a modern context.

It was initially formed in South Korea in 2012 and relocated to Melbourne in 2012, ramping up its performance activities in both the countries.

Director Choi said in an interview with SBS Radio Korean Program, we are aware of superiority as well as inferiority of both Baroque and modern instruments in some areas.

Facing this reality, we aim to implement some practical yet acceptable instrumental configurations in performing Baroque music today.

Full interview with Director of 'Progetto Corell'i is available on audio.
