Korean Kwon comes third at the windsurfing marathon of Lancelin Ocean Classic

Korean windsurfer Kwon, Ohhan became the first Asian man who enters the top 10 at the Lancelin Ocean Classic.


Lancelin Ocean Classic is the most well-known windsurfing and kitesurfing marathons in Western Australia. Korean windsurfer Kwon, Ohhan made a splendid achievement of becoming the first Asian man who enters the top 10. In particular, the thirty-two year old ranked third in the windsurfing marathon held on January 13, 2018 in Lancelin located 84 kilometres north of Perth.

Kwon was a professional windsurfer in Korea with more than 15 years of surfing experience and came to Perth after his retirement.

He told SBS Korean program “Australia is a great place to enjoy ocean sports but not much information is available to Koreans living in Australia.”

“Windsurfing and other ocean sports are generally great for building balance and he would like to contribute to promote ocean sports to people in Australia.”
