Korean low-cost carrier Jin Air’s seasonal flights boost tourism in Cairns

The Cairns Post reported that 6,000 Korean visitors arrived in Carins between mid-¬December and early February and it delivered a $9 million boost to the region.


The Cairns Post reported that Korean low-cost carrier Jin Air run seasonal flights from Seoul to Cairns and it lead 6,000 Korean visitors as well as a $9 million boost to the region

The airline runs twice-weekly flights from December last year through to February this year using Boeing 777-200ER aircraft with up to 393 seats.

Tourism Tropical North Queensland (TTNQ) chief executive Alex de Waal said Jin Air and nine Korean wholesalers sold package tours which included the Great Barrier Reef, Wet Tropics rainforest, Kuranda, Port Douglas, the Atherton Tablelands and Cassowary Coast,

Cairns Airport is discussing with Jin Air to run more seasonal flights from Korea or make it as a permanent connection later.
