Korean midfielder Jeon Ga-eul joins Melbourne Victory in the W- league.

Jeon Ga-eul becomes the first Korean born player to join the W-league by signing with Melbourne Victory.


Jeon Ga-eul, a midfielder of South Korean women's national soccer team jumps to Melbourne Victory on 25 Oct 2017.

She becomes the first Korean born player to join the W-League in Australia. The 29 year old was the first Korean player played in National Women's Soccer League in the United States in 2016 but as a result of injury she returned to WK League in Korea.

Ga-eul shows her excitement to join the W-League and start new career in different league during the interview with Sports Chosun in Korea.

Jeon has made 82 appearances for her national team and recorded 35 goals.

The W-League is starting from 28 Oct 2017 but Jeon won't be available for the opening game with Canberra United.

Victory W-League head coach Jeff Hopkins said he is expecting Jeon to play for Round 2's Melbourne Derby against City.
