The Korean Tenor is not new to Australian stages, as he gave a stunning performance as Rodolfo in the acclaimed Gale Edward’s production of La Bohème presented by the Opera Australia in January, 2014, and also played as ‘Ernesto’ in ‘Don Pasquale’ in August 2013 respectively at Joan Sutherland Theatre at Sydney Opera House.
The mainstream media in Sydney praised him as an impeccable tenor with a squeaky clean voice but expressed a bit of disappointment that he had only a featherweight presence on this occasion, as he plays less playful protagonist role compared with the pervious appearance as Rodolfo in La Bohème.
Mr Park, however, sang so impressively with a sort of wide-eyed persona and kept in perfect tune with Nicole Car who made an extraordinary role debut as Violetta Valery wearing velvet and lace resonated with the audience along with the other operatic superstars.
Mr Park is known for his rich musical expressions and ability to hit high tones, with his various performances on the world’s top class stages including Sydney Opera House.
He studied at the Seoul National University and at the Vienna Conservatorium and was a Jette Parker Young Artist at the Royal Opera House 2007‐2009.
He has been also leading a vocal ensemble ‘Rottini’ consisting of Korea’s top international opera singers actively performing in USA, UK, Spain and France respectively - Joseph Lim, Chang-ham Lim and Aldo Heo along with himself.
