Katrina Yu went to Seoul to cover the 19th presidential election. She uploaded a video footage some supporters of Moon Jae-In dancing powerfully on a stage in Gwanghwamun squre.
S.Korea will wake up to a new leader, Moon Jae-in. I think this moment best captures the emotions felt by supporters in Seoul she wrote.
SBS reported more about the election by referring AFP reports.
On the square among the crowd, Koh Eun-Byul, 28, told AFP: "I am so happy because now there is hope for some meaningful change."
SBS said as well as economy and North Korean relations, corruption, slowing growth, unemployment and even air pollution from China were topped voters' list of concerns during this election campaign.
The report mentioned that South Korea's rapid growth from the 1970s to 1990s pulled a war-ravaged nation out of poverty but slowed as the economy matured, and unemployment among under-30s is now at a record 10 percent.
It also indicated that frustration over widening inequality in wealth and opportunities fuelled anger over Park's scandal, which exposed the cosy and corrupt ties between regulators and powerful family-oriented conglomerates, known as chaebols, which have endured for decades.
