In this modern time, everything works digitally including mailing, banking, shopping, paying bills and even booking a dinner table at a restaurant.
It is not arguable that the life is harder for those not connected digitally.
According to the Australian Digital Inclusion Index 2017, seniors are the most digitally excluded age group in Australia.
Tech Savvy Seniors in NSW is a free digital class for our seniors.
The program funded by the NSW Government (through the Department of Family and Community Services) and Telstra and coordinated by the State Library of NSW teaches how to use a computer or iPad.
Tech Savvy Senior started from 2013 has trained over 15,000 people in more than 100 NSW public libraries.
The State Library of NSW partners with the Ethnic Communities’ Council also has delivered language sessions including; Arabic, Cantonese, Dari, Hindi and Italian etc.
The Korean training sessions was introduced in 2017 and this year’s class was fully booked out due to popular demands.
