A bushfire burning on South Australia's Kangaroo Island roared back to life overnight in at least two regions, threatening the towns of Parndana and Vivonne Bay.


It's been a sleepless night for firefighters and residents on Kangaroo Island as fires threatened towns, forcing people to evacuate to the water's edge. 

Emergency warnings were issued on Thursday for the towns of Parndana and Vivonne Bay while the town of Kingscote remains cut off after a second major escalation of the Kangaroo Island bushfire.
