Melbourne Comfort Women Memorial Task Force took part in Melbourne's IWD 2018 rally and march, calling for an end to the sexual enslavement of women in conflict zones.


Melbourne's IWD 2018 rally to protest gender inequality promotes itself as an inclusive, and intersectional event, calling for (in addition to gender equality), economic justice and a liveable income for all women, the right to unionise, the destigmatisation of sex workers, compensation for women's unpaid labour, free and accessible healthcare, housing and education, justice for First Nations Peoples, reproductive justice, sexual liberation, transgender rights, disability rights, an end to racism and violence against women, and a stop to environmental destruction.

Melbourne 'Comfort Women' Memorial Task Force took part in Melbourne's IWD 2018 rally and march calling for an end to the brutal treatment and sexual enslavement of women in conflict zones, saying it a "crime against humanity".

Melbourne Comfort Women Memorial Task Force is a non-profit organisation aiming to establish a 'Statue of Peace' in Melbourne. Above all, MCWM Task Force will recognise the wrong history of the past, further develop into advocates of anti-war, peace, and human rights movements, with the aim of preventing the repetition of history.
