The Star casino's controversial exemption from alcohol lockout laws must surely be revisited now that a government authority has uncovered signs of significant under-reporting of violence in the Pyrmont area.
Any decision rests on one section of the Callinan review into the anti-violence measures. Section 5:10 suggests that violence around the casino at "anywhere near the levels" endured in the CBD and Kings Cross before the laws began would cast doubt on the whole policy.
