‘Moon Jae-in care’ raises concerns over budget

President Moon Jae-in announced a policy to drastically expand health insurance coverage aiming to make a country where no citizens concern about their medical cost.


President Moon Jae-in presented the medical plan to expand the coverage of state health insurance to almost all diseases excluding cosmetic surgery by 2022.31 trillion won to be spent over the next five years to reduce current 100% patient burden for expensive scan, testing, surgery, and medications.

However, concerns are growing over how to fund the new health care scheme.
