The Sydney Morning Heard and the News.com.au gave 2.5-3 stars to the Korean political movie, The King releasing in Australia at the moment.

The King directed by Han Jae Rim, is a crime thriller drama dealt with politics in Korea. The film cast some of the most popular actors in the Korean Hollywood, Chungmooro, including Jung Woo-Sung, Bae Sung-Woo, and Jo In-Sung.

The movie is about Tae-Soo(Jo In-sung) a prosecutor growing up poor with a cheap crook of a father, looking for a real power by joining the clique of the corrupt Han (Jung Woo-sung).

Both the Sydney Morning Heard and News.com.au pointed out that more judicious editing seems to be needed because although the running time was long enough, over 2 hours, it couldn't present all the characters deeply enough. The SMH also said it was difficult for an outsider to understand the film is meant to be.
