North Korea has been in silence on South Koreas offer of military talks to ease tensions over the hermit states missile test.

South Korea urged North Korea to accept its offers to hold a military meeting although their deadline on July 21 2017 suggested has already passed.

Seoul had proposed to hold rare inter-Korea talks at the border truce village of Panmunjom to ease hostilities after a series of missile tests this year.

Korean political commentator JS Suh says although South Korea is desperate to talk to the North but Pyeongyangs current ultimate goal is maximising their nuclear ability before they start to negotiate with other countries in order to be in a position of advantage.
