It was pandemonium at Sydney airport this morning after Korean boy band BTS touched down to a crowd of screaming fans.

Hundreds of fans, most of them young girls, jumped at the chance to catch a glimpse of their idols, who wore masks while they strolled through arrivals.

The band is here in Sydney ahead of their concert tomorrow night at Qudos Bank Arena.

BTS may be an unfamiliar name to some Australians but their music influence is huge on social media and worldwide.

The group has 3.7 million followers on Instagram, 3.93 million on Twitter and more than five million fans on Facebook.

DJ Steve Aoki has also announced a collaboration with the group following BTS big win at the Billboard Music Awards this week.

BTS was nominated for the 2017 Billboard Music Awards in the Top Social Artist category along with A-listers Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Selena Gomez and Shawn Mendes. The band was the first Korean pop group to receive a BBMAs nomination.
