What is the reality and myth of Korean traditional alcohol 'Makgeolli', an alcoholic beverage brewed from fermented rice? Julia Mellor, a Korean traditional alcohol specialist who educates English speakers about the history, culture and science of Korean traditional alcohol Makgeolli has unveiled the secrets of its unique taste in a showcase hosted by the Korean Cultural Centre Australia.


The Korean Cultural Centre Australia invited local people to a special showcase which will introduce them to the world of Korean alcohol.

 

In the showcase, Julia Mellor had addressed her speech about Korean alcohol as expert, who is an Australian citizen who has been living in Seoul, South Korea for the better part of a decade. After living in Korea for a few

years, she began discovering the world of Makgeolli, one of Koreas

representative alcoholic beverages.

 

All participants tasted six different types of Korean alcohol and also had an opportunity to brew their own Makgeolli during the event under her instruction.
