Chloe Kim (Yeajee) is a Sydney-based jazz drummer, currently studying a Bachelor of Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.
Chloe has had the privilege of performing and working with Simon Barker, an internationally renowned jazz drummer who has been exprementing performances featuring with Korean traditional music and Pansori.
She has been lauded as a Jazz star of tomorrow by Sonic Futures, with her singlular calibre of improvisaon and compostion.
She draws on her Korean background and adds Korean musical traditions and rhythms to her jazz drumming language.
She also enjoys experimenting with free improvisation.
Working with her group Improper Citation has provided the opportunity and freedom to experiment with and develop these elements of her music.
