South Korea’s national soccer team aka ‘Taeguk Warriors’ will take on Socceroos at Suncorp Stadium on 17 November in Brisbane followed by another Asian Cup warm-up match against Uzbekistan at Ballymore on 20 November.
The match in Ballymore will coincide with the Socceroos’ match against Lebanon in Sydney, which would be Tim Cahill’s farewell to international football.
For the upcoming A-matches, Socceroos boss Graham Arnold has named a 23-man squad to take on South Korea in Brisbane next week, with an additional four players selected as ‘train-on’ additions to the group.
Austria-based midfielder James Jeggo is a surprise addition who will be looking to grab his first senior cap despite making a number of squads under Ange Postecoglou.
S. Korea has also named its squad to take on Australia later this month, with Premier League stars Son Heung-min and Ki Sung-yeung not included in the side.
Coach Paulo Bento has named a 24-man squad for the friendly in Brisbane on November 17.
The majority of the players are based in Asia, though some do play in Europe.
Koo Ja-cheol plays for Bundesliga side FC Augsburg, while Hwang Hee-chan plays for 2. Bundesliga outfit Hamburger SV. Meanwhile, Robbie Kruse looks set to face Vfl Bochum teammate Lee Chung-yong.
