Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells says changes to the way senators are elected will put power back into the hands of voters and end backroom preference deals.


Senator Concetta Fierravanti-Wells, Minister for Development and the Pacific, has explained about how to vote for the Senate and the rationale for the Senate vote reform in an exclusive interview with SBS Radio Korean Program. 

 

Korea Program raised those questions as follows: 

·The Senate voting system has been reformed and it will be the first attempt for the voters on this Saturday. Could you explain once again the major changes in the senate vote?

·All the members of the senate, namely 76 members will be elected in this election. What is the ideal result for the Coalition government?

·What about the worst scenario?

·At this stage, which state or territory looks the stronger strongholds for the Coalition?

·How many senate seats do you expect from NSW?
