Soccer TONG is a sports segment that proves how everything leads to soccer. In this episode, SBS Korean’s soccer reporter Jun Lee reports about matches of 2019 Asian Champions League.
All four of Korean teams participating in Asian Champions League are versing against Japanese Teams this round. Gyeongnam FC faced Kashima Antlers whereas Jeonbuk Hyundai faced Urawa Reds on Tuesday. Also, Daegu FC faces Sanfrecce Hiroshima, and Ulsan Hyundai meets Kawasaki Frontale on Wednesday. Koreans hate losing against Japanese in any sports so many Koreans will be supporting their team in Asian Champions League.
On the other news, atrocious pitch condition at SCG and injury of Terry Antonis caused debate as to whether Sydney FC should play their game against Perth Glory in SCG. After several heated media discussion, Sydney FC decided to play their game against Perth Glory in Jubilee Stadium.
Lastly, KFA president Jung Mong-Gyu failed to obtain seats in any of FIFA and AFC role and is being criticised for lack of foreign diplomacy. It is believed that this is due to Mr Jung having a closer tie to Saudi Arabian and UAE and political games caused any country with a closer tie to Saudi Arabian and UAE football authority to be banished from holding any seats.
