The Sydney Morning Herald reported that Crown casino employees charged with gambling offences in China could return to home within weeks if the court follows South Korean precedent.

Crown casino employees including three Australian nationals were arrested in China for illegal promotion of gambling in October last year and now they are waiting for their court hearing on June 26.

The Sydney Morning Herald reported that within two days of being sentenced by a Chinese court last year, South Korean casino staff who also were prosecuted for the same charge were on the plane home. Therefore, there is a hope for the Australian staff could come back home from China within a week.

It found that South Korean casino staff sentenced about 13-14 months imprisonment and it means by the time when they get their final hearing, the time could possible already served.
