This topic explains the process of accessing My Aged Care, and how to overcome some of the challenges encountered when doing so.


• My Aged Care was introduced to the Australian aged care system as a central intake contact centre.

•  It is for seniors, over 65 years of age who require aged care support services; they are required to contact the myagedcare contact centre as the first step.

• Access aged care in Australia is through myagedcare telephone 1800 200 422.

• Contact TIS if they do not speak English-TIS 131 450-Free service

• That the older persons’ language, cultural and spiritual needs can be met.

• Once you register with MAC, a RAS assessor will visit you at home. If your needs are complex a ACAT assessor will also visit you at home.
