A majority of Australians would welcome a cash bonus for Newstart recipients over the Christmas holidays to ease their financial stress.


Two-in-three Australians support giving Newstart recipients a one-off cash payment at Christmas to help meet the costs of the holiday season.

Most people believe the holiday bonus should be $250 or more.
