This year's Sydney Korean Festival perfectly served as a platform for the celebration of Korea’s contemporary and traditional culture.

This year’s Sydney Korean Festival returned on April 6.

The multicultural event was held in Tumbalong Park, Darling Harbour Sydney.

It presented various performances introducing Korean traditional and modern culture which gave Sydneysiders an extensive experience and insight into Korea.

This year, especially, Nan-gye Korean Traditional Music Orchestra was invited at the event to perform traditional Korean music, called Gugak.

It was a pleasant time for many Korean immigrants to feel nostalgia through the great performance of Gugak.

Nan-gye Gukak Troupe, the first county-level public Gugak performance team, was established in 1991 to inherit the spirit of Nangye Park Yeon, one of the three legendary Gugak musicians in the Joseon Dynasty.

SBS Radio Korean Program conducted an interview with Min Eui Sik, Artistic Director of Nan-gye Gukak Troupe.
