Eleven Korean workers have been allegedly underpaid more than $108,000.


Sydney sandwich outlet allegedly underpaid Korean workers more than $108,000 and fabricated employment records, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.

Mr Kim, who owns and runs six sandwich outlets in the Sydney CBD, is facing the Federal Circuit Court.

The Fair Work Ombudsman is taking legal action against Mr Kim and his company after 10 Korean employees on working holiday visas and one on a student visa were allegedly underpaid a total of $108,931 over a nearly three-year period.

Most of the workers spoke little English and were paid $10 an hour for their first two weeks of work and flat rates of $11 to $13 an hour. According to the Fast Food Industry Award they were entitled to adult rates of $21.21 to $23.25.
