Melissa Tapper never saw herself as disabled, and, after qualifying for the Rio Olympics, it is clear no-one else does either.
The nerves in her right shoulder were damaged at birth, but, as a junior in open table-tennis competition, Tapper topped the ranks.
She had to be convinced to try out for the Paralympics, but then easily gained selection for the 2012 Games in London and narrowly missed out on a medal.
It was then she set her sights on dual qualification.
