Tenor Yoon Byung Kil to make a debut in Australia with a stunning production of Verdi’s Il Trovatore.

The Korea National Opera's principal tenor Yoon Byung Kil will make a debut in Australia with a stunning production of Verdi's "Il Trovatore".


Following the outstanding success of Strauss' Ariadne auf Naxos and Rossini's La Cenerentola, CitiOpera Melbourne returns with a stunning production of Verdis Il Trovatore which will have an opening performance on 25 February, and more on 1 and 4 March at Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne.

Il Trovatore is one of Verdi's three masterpieces along with Rigoletto and La Traviata, and its Anvil Chorus, a chorus from act 2 has been most loved by the world-wide opera fans.

Headed by Korea tenor Yoon Byung Kil as Manrico, this magnificent opera also stars an outstanding international cast such as 2015 Herald Sun Aria winner Fiona Jopson as Leonora, the outstanding Helen Hill as Azucena, emerging young talent Samuel Thomas-Holland as Count di Luna and Opera Australias Eddie Muliaumasealii as Ferrando.

Direct from Italy, Maestro Gaetano Colajanni leads CitiOperas celebrated Orchestra and Chorus.
