The Australian advocates that NSW Premier Mike Baird has done the right thing by overturning his own plan to ban the greyhound racing industry.
Just three months ago Mr Baird made the announcement that would have put down the industry next year, with the livelihoods of breeders, trainers and suppliers destroyed. It was a heavy-handed response to the animal-rights agenda of inner-city green-Left activists.
The Australian mentioned that the practice of live baiting is against the law and transgressors must be banned while needless killing of surplus dogs must be eliminated through controls and tracking measures. The industry must eradicate irresponsible individuals and bad practices.
