The Australian advocates in their editorial section that the school funding is no panacea.

The Australian mentioned that the extra $10 billion pumped into schools by federal, state and territory governments in the past decade failed to improve the performance of students.

The Australian suggests for better results in education fields as follow. In directing spending towards better outcomes, the effectiveness of teachers should be the main determinant for pay rises; well targeted programs need to be encouraged; the greater use of subject specialist and master teachers to spread best practice in schools should be pursued.
