The Opening ceremony for the hall of the Korean Society of Queensland has been recently held in Brisbane.

A variety of people including Mr Hyun Kwang-Hoon, the President of the Korean Society of Queensland and Mr Yoon Sang-Soo, the Korean Consul-General in Sydney attended the ceremony which took place a park near the Brisbane city hall

The ceremony did proceed at the community hall but at the park adjacent to the Brisbane City Hall, due to the safety for a large crowd and other reasons.

According to the Korean Society of QLD, the opening of the Korean Community Center in Queensland does not simply mean that the organization has secured the ‘free standing’ premises.

Many ethnic groups tried to get a venue from the Brisbane Council, but Korean community was the first group to get the enter from the council.

When the Korean Society of QLD was launched, they had only a small office.

However, they have finally secured the large independent hall thanks to the council and Korean community’s stellar efforts.
