The SMH says the Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has changed his tone markedly after a series of terrorist attacks, citing the words -"Islamist terrorism".

 

Australia is well known for the most successful and harmonious multicultural nation in the world, the paper, however, argues that this reassuring balm of an Australian exceptionalism was gone.

Malcolm Turnbull has questioned how a terrorist who killed one man and injured three police in a Melbourne siege was out on parole at the time.

The Prime Minister and the state and territory leaders will discuss parole reform after the terrorist incident in Melbourne.
