U.N. asks world to fight virus-spawned discrimination

United Nations human rights guardian Michelle Bachelet urged the global community on Thursday to show solidarity with people of ethnic Asian origin subject to discrimination amid an outbreak of a novel coronavirus that started in China.


The United Nations human rights boss is urging the global community to show solidarity with people of Asian apperarence who are being discrimnatied against in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

COVID-19 first emerged in China, and there are now confirmed cases of the virus on every continent except Antarctica.

Michelle Bachelet says the outbreak has set off a distrubing was of prejudice against people of Asian ethnicitiy.
