The Korean political commentator JY Suh analysed President Park Geun-hye's first ever exclusive media interview released on 25th Jan. The interview was conducted by a well-known pro-Park journalist, chief editor Jeong Kyu Jae of the Korea Economic Daily.
In the one-hour interview, Ms Park said the political scandal had been plotted for a long time.
Meanwhile, in the main opposition Democratic Party of Korea's primary, Seongnam Mayor Lee Jae-myung and South Chungcheong Governer An Hee-Jung challenge the leading candidate Moon Jae-in, by announcing their bid for the Korean presidency.
